Hi! I'm Yamile, Photographer. Blue Merle Photography, is a specialty studio dedicated to photographing “pets and their people” and raising awareness to help animals in need. You probably already realized Blue Merle Photography is named in honor of my dog, Rascal. Believe me, he lives up to his name! That's us in the photograph that my friend and photographer, John Mazz, took of us at the Florida Botanical Gardens.
Growing up in a family of animal lovers there were always dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and even an amphibian or two in our home. With a home full of pets adopted from shelters over the years, I began my pet photography career as a volunteer photographer for animal rescues taking photographs of pets in need of homes, love and a family of their own. That experience led me to get a certification in Animal Psychology and Pet Behavior. Soon clients were commissioning me to photograph their pets.
I am a contributor to the Cleveland Photo Fest at the Bostwick Design Art Initiative. Author David Dennis commissioned me to photograph him with his dog for his book (Gameness) jacket. Read more about that on my blog here: https://www.bluemerlephoto.com/blog/pets-and-their-people/ . Since quality photography is an important part of pet adoption programs, I still volunteer my time to photograph for the rescues.
If you are interested in having a fun adventure in pet photography with candid and playful images that capture your pet's personality and the loving bond you have, call or text me at 305-801-6232 and I'll create beautiful memories of those moments.
